ASSIGNMENT SCENARIO AND GUIDANCE
Scenario 1
Effective project management means setting a clear project plan and using the right tools to monitor progress. The best project managers can manage setbacks while keeping the company’s goals and workflow on track.
You are assigned a project as a project manager. You are fully independent to plan, execute, monitor and control, and closure the project. Project details are following:
Shaukat Khanam (The Welfare Trust) is going to hold a marathon race (Capital Marathon Race) to raise charity to promote education in remote areas of Pakistan where these are so proper schools and neither people have sufficient resources to educate their children. Funds will be raised from about 500 general and 20 elite runners, door to door donation collections, sponsors and food stalls. Fund raising target is Rs. 100 million. Capital Marathon Race will be hold in capital city Pakistan, Islamabad on Sunday 30th January, 2022 by the approval of government authorities, and informed to local authorities. A 5KM track from Faizabad till Shah Faisal Mosque, between 11am till 3pm. Chief guests will be from Government personal, sports and TV/Film actors/actresses.
Produce all important project documents/logs/reports based on given project in professional/academic format.
You are required to produce a report by explaining following in general and context of given project:
- The importance of effective project management for the given project, particularly discuss importance in context of project success.
- Discuss different methods, processes and tools available in project management that support to given project in achieving project objectives within project constraints.
- You are required to analyze the relationship between effective project management and the use of appropriate methods, processes and tools for the given project in scenario 1, these includes agile and waterfall from methods, Project Life Cycle and project management software as tools and so on.
- Perform evaluation to access the impact of appropriate methods, processes and tools used in effective project management, in given and contrast projects from various typologies.
